Goddess Jagatdhatri is one of the many Gods and goddesses who are very popular among the people of West Bengal, and also worshipped in every lane in the city as well as in the district of Burdwan.
'Potua Chitra' is a kind of village art which is practised till date by the artistes of Bankura where a group of families are expert in painting these pictures based on the folk lores of  Bengal specially made with vegetable colours. During handicrafts fair and also at the time of festivals held in the city every year these artistes come here all the way from their villages in the district to showcase their artwork.
